Here's exactly what
happens to your agreement.

No black box. No guesswork. Every step of the process is the same for every document, every time. For UK agreements.

Five steps. Plain English throughout.

From the moment you upload to the moment you read your explanation, here is what BareTerms does and why. Whether you are about to sign or already have, the process is the same.

1

You upload your agreement

Upload a PDF or image of any compatible UK agreement. BareTerms reads the text directly from the document. No account required.

2

Your personal details are removed

Before your document reaches any AI model, automated software strips out personal information: your name, address, account numbers, phone number, and any other identifiers. The agreement text stays intact. Your personal details do not.

Personal data removed before any AI sees the document
3

We check what we can find before you pay

Before you pay anything, BareTerms scans the document and tells you what it found: which fields are complete, which are unclear, and what the analysis will cover. You see this before you decide whether to proceed.

If the document is too incomplete to analyse reliably, we tell you that upfront. If you proceed and the analysis cannot be completed in full, you will be offered a full refund.

Free completeness check before payment
Payment happens here, only if you choose to proceed
4

The agreement is analysed and explained

After payment, BareTerms extracts every relevant clause and field from the document: fees, minimum terms, exit conditions, auto-renewal clauses, obligations, and more. These are then turned into a plain-English explanation, written at a reading level accessible to anyone.

Every explanation is anchored to the original wording. BareTerms says what the agreement says. Nothing more, nothing less.

Explanation streamed to you as it is generated
5

Your agreement is gone.
The explanation stays.

Once the analysis is complete, your uploaded agreement is permanently removed. It is never written to any database. Only the structured explanation, stripped of all personal information, is retained.

0% of your agreement retained once we're done

Your document never touches
persistent storage. By design.

The way BareTerms is built means your document cannot be retained. There is nowhere in the pipeline to write it. This is an architectural fact, not a policy promise.

The structured explanation BareTerms produces is retained after processing. It contains no personal information and is never linked back to you as an individual.

Personal details removed first Your name, address, and identifiers are stripped out before the document reaches any AI model.
Your agreement is never stored The uploaded document passes through memory only. It is not written to any database at any point.
Encrypted in transit and at rest All processing runs within Google Cloud London. Data is encrypted throughout.
Your document is never used to train AI BareTerms has opted out of AI training. Your document contributes nothing to any model.
